This section will outline some specifications (specs) of document assembly systems that I and/or Basha Systems have previously built for clients. Most of these systems are designed to produce finalized documents that do not require post assembly editing. Additionally, most of these systems are designed with "master answer" lists (not the auto-generated type), from which all proofreading is done. Whilst it will appear as if I am showboating (unavoidable I suppose) the real intent is to perhaps get a response from you, the reader.

What I'm hoping for here is a thought like, "hey! we do a lot of property matters...I can see how that approach would really cut down our production times" or perhaps "I can pick all my favourite liquidators from a single list? That would be nice".  All in all, I'm simply trying to put forward some system specs that I KNOW work (have worked, have benefitted the client and are still working), in the hopes of getting readers to identify with the kind of systems I design and build.

A note as to figures...

Before I start: Any figures relating to staff ratios, billing increases, WIP billings, flat fee charges and other such are purely HYPOTHETICAL. I do not run a legal practice and the figures I use are to demonstrate a point, not promise exact returns

The reason for this section is that it may be difficult to envisage how high levels of automation (by way of document assembly) may be a lucrative avenue of profit for your firm.  This entire section is aimed at providing some real examples of systems that may benefit YOUR firm.

Please note that these systems would not be "cheap". If you are thinking that these systems would be nice "for a grand or two", you are quite right however...they would probably cost far more than that to implement (with the exception of undefended bankruptcy & undefended winding up as these two areas of practice are very "cut and dried" so to speak). They would also take considerable time (days to weeks) of consultancy time with your professional and support staff.

Each system outlined here refers to a custom system. That means it would be built from the ground up to reflect your precedents, your custom pleadings and drafting styles, your custom lists of quickly accessible data and the like.

I suppose you could use an analogy of purchasing a suit. Some people buy off the shelf and wear their brand new suit - its pretty good for most situations. Others will spend a bit more money on a higher quality of suit and have it altered slightly to fit them better - these guys are stepping out. Others, with the advice of a tailor, will select their fabric, choose the design of the suit to be crafted, and then have the suit made to suit their figure and requirements exactly - these guys are seriously investing in image.

Under this scenario, I am the tailor, and you are looking at investing in your firm's profit, not image.
